About The Practitioner

Change Happens.

COVID caused me to leave my thriving massage practice, as well as cherished friends and colleagues of nearly three decades in Atlanta, and relocate to Denver with my elderly mother to be safe with family.

My hope is that Atlanta's loss will be Denver's gain.

You're in Good Hands

I am a 1993 graduate of The Atlanta School of Massage in Professional Massage Therapy

I have advanced certifications in Foot Reflexology (The Heal Center, Atlanta, GA 1995), Cranio-Sacral Balancing (Stillpoint Center for Energetic Healing, Sarasota, FL 1994), Pregnancy and Postpartum Massage (Bodywork for the Childbearing Year with Somatic Learning Associates, La Jolla, CA 1996),  Practical Aromatherapy (The Heal Center, Atlanta, GA 1996) Vibrational Aromatherapy (Ixchel Leigh, founder of Artisan Parfums, Ojai, CA 1997) and am currently working on my externship in Trauma Touch Therapy, which I studied at The Colorado School of Healing Arts.

I was an instructor of massage and reflexology at The Heal Center in Atlanta.

I am currently the prenatal massage instructor at The Colorado School of Healing Arts.

Why massage?

I received my first massage on vacation in Istanbul, Turkey in the city's oldest hammam (communal bath house).  As I sat in the vaulted, steam-filled room, pouring warm water over myself with an etched brass bowl, one of the traditional masseuses pointed at me, indicating it was my time to come to the center platform and receive my massage. I looked over at one of my travel buddies, gave a "yikes" expression, and obeyed.  A delightfully indeterminate amount of time later, I emerged from the experience deeply transformed, with the realization that I had been living strictly from the neck up for years.

This planted a seed.

Several years later, when I returned to the US from Spain, I was determined to honor the lessons I had learned living in the Mediterranean.  That's when my memory of the hammam came back to me full force.  I realized that I wanted to provide others a similar body experience to what I had encountered in Istanbul.

Decades later I continue to believe that there is a place in all of us that is splendorous and whole.  A great massage allows you to bask in the beauty of this place and return transformed.
