Integrative Aromatherapy Massage

I use the term "Integrative Aromatherapy Massage" to describe my general work.

I have been doing massage for 25+ years.  I love massage because there are endless aspects of it to study.  Touch is our most basic way of comforting and healing each other, and massage is our oldest mode of healing.  Every culture has some form of touch-based healing, and we are constantly creating and synthesizing new modalities of bodywork.

A wise and seasoned massage therapist said to me when I was just starting out, "Never stop studying bodywork. As you continue to study new massage modalities, they become like tools you pull out of your tool box to address different problems you encounter while you are working on someone. The more tools you have, the more possibilities you have for helping people, and the more complex and interesting your bodywork becomes."

So how to describe what you do after 25+ years of experience and constant study?

Keep it simple.

Integrative

First you study, then you practice, finally you integrate.

Aromatherapy

I use high quality essential oils in all of the modalities that I practice. These don't just smell good, they have therapeutic benefits, and they enhance and deepen the massage.  Of course if you do not wish to use essential oils, we can do any session with pure carrier oils. I use sweet almond oil as my base oil. It is cold-pressed and unscented.

Massage

The heart of all of my work is massage - caring, effective, respectful, nurturing, healing.  Nothing communicates that we are safe, valued, and we belong like a great massage.
